Short Hair is in for 2010
Everywhere you look this year it’s obvious that short hair is in. The
Pob, brought to life by Victoria Beckham herself, is now growing out and
losing its style dominance. It’s interesting, though, to see that
instead of being replaced by a longer style, we are seeing the Pob being
fashioned into the Pixie Bob for those that have the nerve. We are also
seeing the precision cut bobs stepping out more into the limelight. The
precision is a much harder and edgier look but the attitude of the one
wearing it really makes or breaks the look. Dramatic eye color and some
bling complete this one and turn it into what it is meant to be.

Remember the look of uneven lengths? Christened the Mod, it’s a
strong alternative for a softer easier look to care for. Looking for a
casual twist? Consider a curly bob. The styles this year are all about
energy and sass. The more you have, the more you should share! The
classic looks are taking a tweaking, and as a result, the hair is well
cared for and more manageable. Healthier cuts are being established,
moving away from the abuse of the razor cut to more of a refined
chipping method.

For those who are growing out the Pob and do have their eye on a
slightly longer style, the classic page boy could be just the thing.
This style skims the shoulders and flips into the face if styled in that
way. Also stepping out of the salons is the updated pixie. With a mind
of its own, it’s open to a variety of looks only limited by your
imagination and time to do your hair. Even some short spiky pixies are
being sported by those up for the challenge and the additional use of
freezing styling products.
Go with what suits you, of course, but for fun, explore online and
see what everyone else is doing. Try a personality quiz to find out if
short hair is for you. There are a number of websites that will allow
you to model hairstyles on your own picture. While the qualities of
these sites differ, you can still get an idea of what to expect if you
decide to update your do. One rule of thumb: if you do have a round
face, the sky is the limit! You can wear any short style and look
amazing doing so.
For the rest of us, oval, square or heart shaped, the precision bob
in expert hands can soften the facial features while bringing them out
in their best light. Though the cut is often considered hard and edgy,
the eyes and lips soften the overall effect and bring the look into
harmony. Simply said, they work!
Even the bride to be is getting in on the act. Planning your wedding
and stressing over your short tresses? No need to be. This season the
veil is hot over a short do, namely the bird cage veil. An elegant look
for the happiest day of your life!
